County Court Fees is a private reference site. It is not affiliated with any court, clerk, sheriff, or unit of government, and nothing on it is legal advice.
If you want to know what it costs to file an eviction or a small claims case, the honest answer is "it depends on your county" — and almost nothing online is organized that way. Search results give you a state-level range, a law firm's blog post, or a PDF on a clerk's website that you have to find first and then read. The state-level range is not what you pay.
In Illinois, the same eviction case can cost a couple hundred dollars in one county and substantially more in another, because the statute sets a ceiling and each county board sets the actual amount underneath it. Sheriff service fees vary even more, and almost nobody collects them at all.
So this site does one narrow thing: it reads the county's own fee schedule, records what it says, records the date, links the document, and shows you the gaps where a county publishes nothing. That is the whole product.

Fee data is compiled and verified by David Scott, who compiles court filing fees directly from Circuit Clerk and Sheriff fee schedules, records the source document and the date each figure was checked, and re-verifies every county on a fixed schedule.
